The New Hobby

DS is taking up guitar. I know he's wanted to learn for a while, but it's been one of those on and off again things. This time he's going forward with it and he's already loving it. He's been all over looking for cool acoustic guitar songs to play and he's gotten good at a few already. I'm really glad that he's found something else that he loves. I think having things you truly enjoy is really important to keeping you healthy and happy.

Switching to a Flat Screen

The Author of this post is Solomon Dejesus

My husband is in the military and we find ourselves moving very often. It is always a pain to lug the heavy big screen television in our living room from place to place. Because we had paid so much for the big screen television, I didn’t feel right getting one of the new flat screen televisions. I felt like our big screen worked fine, even though it was aesthetically pleasing. After our forth move in five years, I finally broke down and agreed to invest in a new flat screen television. I tried to sell the big screen television, but no one was interested and ended up donating it. When we got the flat screen, I agreed to get Direct Star Tv because my husband convinced me that having a nice HDTV wasn’t worth it unless you could get the HD channels. I’m actually really glad that we got the new television. There is no longer a huge eyesore in the living room, it is easier to move, and we enjoy watching movies all day long on his few days off.

Hard to Find

One of the things that haunts me about my last job is the hard to find items that customers wanted. Sometimes while I'm shopping I'll come across one of them and wish I could share the source with the customer that was always looking for them lol. I had quite a few personal customers. One of the things they were always in search of was riding boots. They would settle for anything they could find resembling english riding boots even though that's not exactly what they wanted. Fashion has become so driven on trend that it has gone down to all age levels, which I found out when I was pregnant with DD. I couldn't find the normal practical things anywhere. As a customer, it's pretty amazing that a store wouldn't continue to carry the basics they were always known for.

The Wedding

My ex-sister-in-law is getting remarried in June and wants to have my son fly out for her wedding. I'm not sure if he's up to it (after being stuck in the Honolulu Airport for over a day lol) or if he wants to since he doesn't know her really well, but I think it would be fun for him. She lives in Florida and he's never been there, so it would be a nice change. I'm not sure how she wants to plan it, or even if she has at all, but I would assume they would be in one of the hotels in orlando, which is a nice area. I have never gotten to go to that part of the state myself, so even I might meet him there lol!

Kid-Friendly

Now that I have two 5 year olds, I've been looking for things we can do together that would spike their interest. I would love to cook with them but the teeny kitchen we have doesn't allow for too many people to be in there at once. Since cake pops and the like have become such a huge trend lately, I thought it might be fun to make some with them being that it's a craft that we could move to the table. Since my recent lack of energy has come to be, I'm thinking that I may introduce the idea to them during Easter by getting bake pops at Shari's Berries and putting them into their baskets. I think it's a cute idea regardless and will probably do that to lessen the hoard of rather crummy candy lol.

Lazy

I have been quite the lethargic person lately. The only good thing about that is that I sort of have an excuse...I'm pregnant! I never really thought that I would be having another baby and pretty much thought I was done. I'm not really sure how I feel about it yet, given my anxiety that something may go wrong, but I'm happy all the same. If only I could give myself more energy so I can go back to getting things done...lol.

Asian Eyes

It's funny that eyes are such a commonly discussed feature in my family. Every gathering there is some talk about eyes and the features each of us carries in our eyes. One of them is eyelashes, or lack there of. Asians normally have very thin and almost nonexistent lashes and we are some of the first to try all the latest eyelash growth products. I myself have tried a slew of them hoping for great results. Some of them deliver while others fall flat. I love to see what companies have come out with, the technology is definitely improving.
