There's been a lot of controversy at DS's school this year. The latest issue was about the dress policy. There's always been a lot of different ways kids dress from preppy to wearing multi-colored hip hop clothes. There was one well known student that was reprimanded for wearing gang colors. Once the word got out to the rest of the school a text went out for everyone to wear red shirts (apparently that's what he wore). DS came home and told me about it and I tried to explain to him that it wasn't JUST the color of his shirt but how he wore it with the rest of his clothing. As I assumed the next day an email went out about the incident and of course there was more to the story (he was not changing his clothes and not only wore his clothes a certain way but had colored laces and such as well). The funny part is that DS isn't allowed to text so he had no idea and wore a red shirt (his favorite color and with print) anyway. It seems to me that his generation wants to have a say but doesn't have any insight nor do they understand the politics. Are their parents not teaching them anything?

A Day Out
DH and my BIL are headed up to check out Sacramento homes for sale today and I can't help but be at least a little jealous. I wish we had the money to buy some income property but I don't think we ever will. I could really use a day out too since I haven't left the bedroom in like a week. Outlet shopping sounds good because we all need some piece of clothing but I'm not sure when we'll get to go do that. I love going to those things. Hopefully we get out soon and it doesn't rain that day, I'm tired of that too.
Another Expense
DS had his glasses in his pocket for some reason last week and of course they fell out as he was crossing the street. Before he could get to them they got run over by a car, which figures. So he comes home and presents me with some flattened frames with both lenses popped out and scratched. I wish I could get him some discount prescription glasses but we go through a family member and supposedly he gives us a discount already. Too bad it's not going to cost under $100...that figures too.
A Painful Project
I was SO excited to be redoing our room and now I'm not really sure how I feel about it. I'm in the worst pain that I've been in since I was pregnant. I think I have tendinitis or something and my whole left shoulder down my arm is so bad that it wakes me up at night. I've only been getting about 3-4 hrs of sleep at a time before I wake up and have to get up. It really stinks to say the least and I've only gotten the closet mostly done! UGH

Water, Water Everywhere...
I drink TONS of water and the annoying part is that most of it is at night. It's almost become like a diet supplement to keep me from eating at night (one of my worst habits). That's really hard for me not to do because of insomnia and the fact that it's possible to sit down and eat without catering to DD the whole time. I miss having peaceful meals. LOL I wish there was some other way for me to not eat really late because the bathroom visits every half hour get really old really fast. On the upside, I'm well hydrated!
Building Business
The lady that I work with is trying to get more people to her site as is one of her friends with her own. They both are looking into submitting to free web directories to see how that goes. I'm not really sure how those things work since everyone seems to google stuff all the time now and that's about it but I think it's worth a shot. I'm definitely not the most up to date or web savvy so I have no idea at all of what people do online anymore. I follow the same boring routine as with anything else I do so as old as it may be it's always new to me. LOL!
Cold Sore(?)
As we know, when it comes to me trying to figure things out health wise I'm really not good at it at all. DH keeps getting what looks like pimples but they really could be cold sores and I can't tell for the life of me. No matter what I've read the whole thing throws me off when I see herpes simplex because that term just turns me off right away even thought it's not THAT. LOL! I guess it's the 10 year old in me that giggles at "dirty" words or something. I don't know what it is but it doesn't SEEM like it because they don't actually hurt but who knows. I'm glad I never said I wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. LOL
