What Color IS That?

The lighting in our house is totally terrible. Everything is really dim and kind of yellowed or something and you never can see anything properly. I bought a couple of lamps for our room to help even things out but then it's seems like such a waste having so many lights on to begin with.

My mom is pretty retarded about the whole thing and the lamps that she has bought were solely for the design style and serve no functional purpose what so ever. It's startling when she first brings one home and you turn it on and it does nothing but lightly glow the area around it.

All of the fixtures in the house are poorly placed on top of being badly lit. I saw some really nice ones by Dolan Designs once and think that they would go with a lot of what she's looking for since we already have something like the wall lanterns outside that they make. I wish we could have redone all of these like yesterday or earlier so it didn't hurt so much to try to read or anything in the house.
