The Roller Coaster Effect

My weight has been on such an up and down road since we started eating as cheaply as we can that I pretty much gave up on buying some new weight loss pills. I really could use the extra energy boost in the afternoons though. None of the exercises or other natural pick me ups have ever really done anything for me. I miss being able to stay afloat all day through out the whole day. I know that not eating a well balanced diet helps push that along as well. I've gotta figure something out to keep myself normalized until our finances pick back up, ugh.

Shoe Shoppin'

I went out to the mall this weekend hoping to find a new pair of everyday shoes with no luck. I feel more and more like a teenager in my worn out Converse all the time...of course I DO have some pairs in different colors that aren't as worn out but even then it's a stretch. LOL

My mom found some Ecco and Clarks that she liked for herself. I was quite surprised because Clarks has totally changed its image since I used to sell them. They are quite "hip" compared to the top stitched flat things I used to look at every day. It's the same with Dansko. I used to get calls for them ALL THE TIME asking if we carried them in-store or when we would. I even had calls asking if we had the children sized clogs. Most people know what I'm talking about when I say Dansko...nurse's shoes. Actually, most nurses that I've seen recently have moved onto things like Crocs but that's another story. LOL I was really shocked when I saw something as nice and sleek as this boot made by them. They are really changing and expanding what they make now which should really bring them a lot more business since they are such a long standing company.

Planning Ahead

Since the incident we had with DH almost dying, I've been thinking a lot about our future and what will happen if something happens to one of us. I keep forgetting that we are getting older since I haven't changed since I was a teen (besides getting fatter). I'm not sure what he thinks right now but I think it's a good idea for us to look into things. I found a few places that offer term life insurance quotes online which is really helpful. The whole thing tends to put things into prospective...

Tired!

I'm getting quite frustrated at the irritating things that come up every day. I can't even begin to tell you of a time when things were this retarded. It seems like there is a cloud that's following us around and we can't escape from it (I'm sure that a couple of people that don't like me are very happy now thinking that it has something to do with them).

On the upside, my Grandmother is bouncing back from a slump (she has Alzheimer's). Last weekend she was perkier and more lucid. It seems that she may not be able to remember our names anymore but every know and then she'll pop out with them without thinking. She was happy and cracking jokes like she used to. After these last couple of months it's been hard and is so nice to see her coming back a bit even if for only a short while.

Hardcore Gamer

DS has decided that he now wants to save up to buy a PS3. I'm not sure what his goal with having all of these game systems is but it seems like he's almost in collector mode. If it plays games, he wants one. I have to say, not only is this getting extremely tiresome, it's WAY expensive! I wish he had just started off with a new Playstation and been done with that but he HAD to have his Halo game. LOL! I'm thinking that I may need to get him a screen of some kind to put in his room so we can use the other TV for actual viewing. It's kind of pointless to be paying for 4 TVs when you only watch 3. :o}
