Planning Ahead

now that we have a different family unit, I've been thinking about how to prepare for the future quite a bit and I know J has been too. Neither one of us really thinks about what will happen to us when we go, but having three kids (possibly four someday) makes things a little different. We've been looking at life insurance on and off and what the differences are between regular and high risk life insurance plans. There's so much to them but we've found a couple places that simplify things a lot, which is good since we have no idea what it all is really. Things are still new so we're not looking to jump into things right away, but it's a good idea to have things set someday soon so that we can feel good about things just in case something does happen.

The Christmas List

I'm kind of at a loss this year on what to get DD for Christmas. I know my BF wants to get both girls new laptops or netbooks and was checking out some acer laptops a while back already. It sounds kind of silly to be getting girls as young as ours things like that, but being the geek he is and with as many movies as the girls like to watch, it's actually a really good idea. His DD already has had a netbook that is on its way out and mine seems to have made a hobby of messing up all of her DVDs. He just puts all of the movies on there and there's nothing to mess up. At the same time it kind of gives them a heads up on computer skills, so really, it's a win win for all of us. Other than that, I'm not sure what to get them, since our place is so small. That's something I'll have to keep working on.

Just Say Yes!

I'm so excited knowing that we'll be getting officially engaged soon. Well, at least I hope it's soon lol. I'm not exactly sure what his feelings are on it anymore but I'm sure it couldn't have changed all that much lately. I know we're still recovering from this summer's vacations, so money is kind of tight right now, but I hope to have a ring by the end of this year. I've (secretly) been looking at diamond engagement rings, hoping he picks me something pretty. I know he can't afford something outrageous but something better than the last one I was given would definitely be a plus LOL. It's so exciting, all of this. I've never looked forward to getting married in my life and I'm so happy knowing that I'm finally able to!

Halloween!

I'm always shocked at how fast all the holidays seem to come. Once on season ends they all seem to follow in quick succession! As soon as 'back to school' ends, it's Halloween already! I'm not sure what dd will choose to be this year, but her stepsister already has chosen to be a mermaid and decided that weeks ago LOL. I love knowing that we can find anything we're looking for online and even better, there are always coupons to help out. In the next week I'll be digging up costume express coupons and searching for a mermaid, and whatever costume for dd LOL! I can't wait to take the girls out this year, hopefully it doesn't rain like it does back home here.

It's Been Forever!

So, I'm back and better than ever! Well okay, that's not too hard to beat considering the whacked out year it's been already LOL.

New and big things have happened over the last few months. Aside from my trips to Kansas, we were able to take a short vacation in Hawaii! That was so exciting and I was especially glad to have been able to go with my bf. We have a certain connection to Hawaii and it was definitely significant being able to come full circle and take a trip together.

The last few weeks have been a huge adjustment too. DD and I moved to Kansas and we're still getting into the swing of things. It's been something trying to figure out all of the relationships in the house alone, but we'll get there. I've never been so optimistic, ever :o)
